of $882.00. I have not received any pay nor did I do any work for them. Should I ask for proof?

You can call the company that issued the 1099 and tell them that you received the 1099 in error. If they insist that you received income from them tell them to verify it with a copy of the check that was issued to you. All good A/P departments should have a copy the the check that was issued for the payment. Good luck.

1) I think this is a case of false (stolen ?) identity. Someone is masquerading as you
2) Notify that company, for your own good and theirs. Both parties should be willing to clear this up before it gets messier.
3) Many illegal aliens use a false cover to get jobs in this country and this may have happened to you.
