Theater & Acting - October 2007

[Selected]: All categories Arts & Humanities Theater & Acting

Im currently in my 2nd year of college and I have to take 4 elective courses. Since I love the entertainment industry, I was considering taking as one of my electives an Acting for TV & Cinema class. I was very shy before but I've come out of my shell since I started college, so shyness is not a problem. The fact that is holding me back is that I've never taken acting lessons before, what if Im not good at all and make a fool out of myself in front of people that think Im not talented?? I really want to try to become an actress, I went to auditions as a little girl so Im not afraid of cameras.

I want to be an actress or model or both more than anything. I have had alot of people telling me I can make it too. I understand the risks and all that so don't tell me any of it because I am sick of hearing it. If you know put the link to the website.

My checks have been getting bigger and my bank says they need specific paper work to avoid trouble for using another name. It's sounds weird but nobody that I know out here in Hollywood seems to know where to go and and get that paper work. Can someone help? Thank you.

I am auditioning for Chess at my High School in a few weeks, and I have really no idea what to sing.

Some suggestions were "How Glory Goes" (can't get individual song music though), "Shouldn't I be Less In Love with You". Also, I always have the option of "Stars," but that's been killed over and over again. I also liked "Private Conversation" from Sideshow.

I really want a few more helpful tips, though. Any help would be great! Oh, and my range is from an F to a G two octaves above that. Pretty much standard baritone.

We are having a concert in school where people can audition for slots in the concert to sing solo songs. It has to be from broadway and it has to be less than five minutes. I want to be able to act it and I want it to make sense by itself and to show off my voice. I'm a high baritone with access to the low tenor and the higher bass notes. I was thinking magic changes or empty chairs at empty tables but they don't really make sense by themselves to people who don't know les mis or grease.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!

of background acotrs/commercials. im just wondering if they even get paid, and if its enough. it seems stupid to pay someone $100 to stand somewhere, but to make it affordable for a large crowd $10-20 per person is really worth anyone's time.

Ok, In the third episode of the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Zack and Max made up a dance routine, and the song is so cool. I need it, and soon, because we need to choose a song for our dance team as an opening act, and I'm in charge of it, and need it REALLY soon! It sounds like at one part they are like, "Hit it up, hit it up right now, hit it up, you wanna hit it up. Hit it up, hit it up right now, hit it up." and then a part that sounds like they're saying, "Get serrrved" or "Yes sirrr" or something. It's really cool sounding. What's the name of this song??????

I just moved to the Akron area. There aren't many talent agencies in this area. ONe of them is Pro Model and Talent / Baribizon. This is where my curiosity comes into play.

I have read all the scam reports and so forth online. I have read the one writeup on Answers about this company. But i am hoping to get a little more detail.

I am not new to acting. I have done it for almost 2 years where I used to live. But I am looking for representation up here. I am in no dire need of acting classes or catwalk classes. That and I am 27 so I am not as gullible as some. Just for representation, what is Pro Model like?

I auditioned at my local community theatre for "The Man Who Came to Dinner" and just received a message offering me the role of Sarah. I'd like to know how big a role it is before I accept it. I don't know that I want to spend all that time with a production if I only have 1 scene and 2 or 3 lines.

Just curious
