I want to be an actress or model or both more than anything. I have had alot of people telling me I can make it too. I understand the risks and all that so don't tell me any of it because I am sick of hearing it. If you know put the link to the website.

I agree with everything Helene said, but to add...

You do not start with an agent. Dad needs to get you into classes. Acting, voice lessons and dance classes. When you've been doing that for a while start auditioning for theatre. You need to build a resume and you do that by getting roles. Once you have a few theatrical roles and you've been keeping up your training, you can try adding student and indie films to your list of experience. You can find those auditions on backstage.com and actorsaccess. Neither are completely free so dad will have to be willing to pony up a bit of cash, however you can do some searching first to see if they have much in your area. If not, then don't sign up. Both are very legit, the best in my opinion. Backstage used to be the industry paper called Dramalogue. The paper and website are now called Backstage (Backstage West in LA). The subscription is not cheap, but it's very legit. Actorsaccess comes from the people at Breakdown Services which is the casting service that every legit agent uses every day. It's free to setup an account and look at the auditions and also to submit for auditions if they request a hardcopy (mail a headshot and resume through the mail. What costs money is submitting electronically. Just check it out. Also, it's a watered down version of the real Breakdowns so there will be ads in there and auditions that won't usually be in the regular Breakdowns. Just have Dad check these out for you. If there are a lot of auditions on there in your area, consider subscribing to Showfax. It's a sides service. They provide script pages for auditions when they're available via fax or internet for $68 and the bonus is that you can submit electronically on actorsaccess for free while you have that subscription.

So, that said... once you have a good resume with training and experience then you seek out an agent. Legit agents do not charge you any fees up front. They get a percentage of your pay AFTER they help find you a job.

Start your search here:

Backstage also has Ross Reports which is a great resource, but not free.

good luck!

Your dad is wise.

We can't even know if there's a reputable agent in your area, because we don't know where you live.

Anyway, it doesn't matter where you live, unless you are lucky enough to already live in one of two places. The vast majority of theatre work and professional modeling work is done in New York City, and the vast majority of movie and television work is done in Los Angeles. Commercials and soap operas are filmed both places.

Professional opportunities in other cities are limited in comparison, and in some places they are nonexistent. If you can't relocate, you need to be able to travel. A lot.

So at your age, you may be stuck with amateur theatre until you're old enough to move to where the jobs are. That's not such a bad thing either. You'll gain experience and wisdom, and have a lot of fun.

Model Search America can get you acting and modeling gigs in Las Vegas, for under 2 grand.
