Theater & Acting - November 2007

Well, I had to do a presentation in front of class confronting an argument.

I got up and started talking, looking around and trying to speak my best. My partner didn't go up with me.

My voice got all shaky and I started sweating.

Later other people from the other group got up and were very relaxed and had such confidence. A girl was teasing me by getting up and acting all shakey.

I was more confident than how I used to be, but I didn't expect my partner to abandon me. I don't like it when I'm not prepared.

How can I handle stage-fright? What do the actors do?

One of the other presenters was an actor, of course she was extremely confident amoung the eyes and thoughts of people.

I would like to take acting lessons with my friend sometimes during January. At one point we went to HB Studios, but have decided not to go back there. I'm living in NJ and she's in NY. So my question is really, is there a place, or places in NJ which are close by to NY that have decent acting lessons. What are the names of some decent places in NY that also have acting lessons? Some places overcharge, and don't offer enough. It's not always easy to judge by a website, so any help from anyone once involved in lessons would be really great. Thanks so much.

haha you guys are all perves....no pictures but while your here, please answer my question

i would very much like to persue the idea of acting. i am a 15 year old and i have taken a few acting lessons, and i got call backs when i was on vacation in california, but i couldnt stay to try out. I know i know that its very hard, but it never hurts to try. so i have been taking improv classes in my high school and i have been trying to look online for some sort of acting/ modeling... with in the greeniwch, ct/ny area..
i am currently intrested in commercials, modeling, and episodes. maybe if i start out in a small part of a show, and slowly work up, it might help. so please tell me if you have any further information for me, thanks a lot =]

The damien high theatre arts club is currently looking for a good dramatic spring play. A "who done it ?" type. No Shakespear or musicals... 2 long, 2 many peepl, 2 much money. We also need a play with about 4-6 female roles. A mystery would suffice, but a dramatic play would be just as good.

Im 13 years old and my mom found out about this audition thing. Should I go? I want to but im really nervous. What will they make me do when i get there? Whats a good way to fix my hair? Should i wear make-up? What should i wear? Is it better to wear dressy shoes or regular shoes? Somebody please give me some advice! The audition is going to be on satuday so please help! Its an audition to become an actor on TV.
