Theater & Acting - June 2007

I just turned 20, I look 15,16; im not bad looking either.
I been wanting to act since Richie Rich and Terminator 2 and Home Alone movies came out .. but my parents been always about going to university and getting good education and such, others like me playing drums is just a hobby I wouldnt dare tellin them my dream is to become a drummer; same thing goes for acting.
Im from london ontario, but i go to university in windsor so im their most of the time; the closest place to go for auditions and agents is Toronto, 4 hours away from windsor. I don have a job and it costs so much money to take the bus there and I don have a car.
How do i start acting ? what should i do first ? how can i do it behind my parents back until i score an audition and maybe after a million auditions ill score a lil part in a movie and surprise them .
I really wana do this !!

Does anyone know of a good kids acting agency or management company that doesnt require much experience? Kinda like kidsmanagement.com but they dont have so many fees?

I'm 19 years old... and a female... foremost.. im not asking how to become an actor.. i'm asking what are things I should do to help my acting and my emotions. I haven't taken any classes yet I definately will in the FALL.. but in the mean time is there anything I can do on my own this summer? What are good books I should read.. is there anything like "Acting for dummies" hehe.. lol just kidding.

I've been looking for jobs that have a certain schedule set so that I can keep my mornings open for when I begin auditioning. I've looked at every type of job from babysitting to clerical work. I'm having a bit of a difficult time finding one, but what I'd really love to do is work at a studio or obviously anywhere else that deals with the entertainment field. I mean I've tried to find info on how to get one of these jobs but to no avail. Does anyone have any resources or personal information on how to get a job like this? Thanks!! ; )

hi, i was hoping to have a career in acting. im 14 and im goign to be a freshman in high school. i have been in school plays and acting clubs etc. its amazing. i really truely think it will make me happy, but after i get out of high school it will be a rollercoaster ride because i will have competition. does anyone know how i can possibly make it into some movies, and meet some film directors?

ok well im a kid in the 9-14 range adni have a very strong resume and i really need an agent to represent me. i dont live in new york so there is no way for agents to see me perform locally. i have sent my headshot and resume in to several different agencies and there is no response. many many people in the biz around my age have told me that dropping off packets at agencies is how they got there agents. i did that and there is still no response. any good advice about what to do?

I am 13 years old and the only singing experience i have had is school choir. Almost evreryone who has heard me sing has said the same thing: "you have a nice voice. You would be amazing if you had some voice lessons". but im having a hard time trying to find a voice teacher. how do I find one?
