Learn how to act. It seems obvious, but a lot of women gloss over the importance of acting skills because they're used to getting away with things due to their good looks. An attractive appearance may help you get certain roles, but don't let that give you the illusion that you're a good actress. Neglect your acting craft and you will hit a dead end sooner or later.
Study women's roles. This is especially important if you want to be taken seriously as an actress. If you don't choose roles carefully, you'll end up becoming just another pretty, replaceable face. You might have to turn down lucrative roles, but a real actress has to be selective about creating her acting resume and must keep her future in mind.
Learn how to cry on command. Odds are, you're going to need to play more emotional parts than a man would be asked to. The extent to which viewers can relate to your emotions has a direct effect on your success as an actress.
Be versatile when it comes to your physical appearance. Are you willing to dye your hair, shave your head, put on thirty pounds? Do you really think you'll get the role of an introspective, well-educated librarian if you bounce in with scrunchy blonde hair and pink shorts? Take pride in your ability, and don't let your appearance get in the way.
Good luck!

look into getting experience first, thats probably going to be by joining amateur or community theatre - ask around local arts centres / theatres etc for contacts.
Then, start looking for a reputable casting agency, as a general rule most agencies that are reputable do not ask you to pay upfront to join, instead they take a little commission for whatever wages you get from with that they find for you.
The internet - sites like Mandy.com etc, have a lot of film auditions, mainly for student and festiavl films which are one way of getting into film. When you go for an audition you find online, always take a friend who is 18+ years old, and never ever hand over any money!

High school will offer many new ways to express yourself, theater, speech classes, being in plays and talent shows. Find out what is going on in your community to promote after school activities and summer camps that can teach you things like acting. Some have scholarships and don't cost anything. The other place to look is a college that is close by that offers programs for teen students. The people that are going to school to become teachers will be getting credit for these classes that that colleges offer to you.

Audition for as many shows as you can. Start looking for colleges that do summer highschool workshops in acting and theatre, and go to them. Take any theatre classes your school offers, and be in the school plays. Take voice and dance classes. Read plays as much as you can and pay special attention in any music, English, and psychology/sociology classes you end up taking, because these subjects can have a lot of bearing on it. Learn how to do things like juggle, ride a unicycle, play instruments, dance, etc. Take independant acting classes or go to workshops if they are in your area. Start looking for a university to go to with a good acting program with a good reputation.
That's the best thing you can do for yourself now. Don't expect to be famous now, you need to prepare yourself before you can get famous. It may be ten years plus before you can become a successful actress, but if you start now you have a much better shot of having a good career and building up the skills you need.

Take acting lessons. Then take some more. Take singing lessons, take dancing lessons, and take notes while you watch political debates. When you graduate from high school, head for a college with a reputable acting program ~ there are many that specialize in that sort of thing.
In the meantime, audition for every stage gig you can in school, church, community theatre, etc., and take whatever roles you can get; it all looks good on your resume.
That should do it for now. Good luck! =)

get professional pics done(look in yellow book for a place that does it) and buy a paper called "backstage west" at 7-11 convenience stores. you just have to look for jobs there, and give them ur pic when u come....its called a headshot. then after u get some jobs(some might not pay, but good for experience) put them on a resume. then go find an agent. e-mail if u need more..:)

keep gaining experience for your self by doing more shows for your school and community... If you really want it you have to go for it. Get involved in the acting community around you. Don't think all actors are famous... the majority aren't.
