look into getting experience first, thats probably going to be by joining amateur or community theatre - ask around local arts centres / theatres etc for contacts.

Then, start looking for a reputable casting agency, as a general rule most agencies that are reputable do not ask you to pay upfront to join, instead they take a little commission for whatever wages you get from with that they find for you. Google them, then email and ask for more details.

The internet - sites like Mandy.com, ukscreen.com etc, have a lot of film auditions, mainly for student and festiavl films which are one way of getting into film. When you go for an audition you find online, always always always take a friend and never ever hand over any money! And dont do any "auditions in private!". There are scams posted sometimes on these sites, but by bearing these rules in mind, you should be ok.

People have been asking this question too often on here. Becoming an actress is not going to be easy. You can't just go from nothing to the biggest star on broadway or the movies. You have to start out small. People always go to small plays at small theatres to look for new talent. Keep doing the small stuff and you will eventually work your way up to main roles. If you completely rock the house, people will be wanting you to be in their plays. The more you are in, the more people will see you. Keep doing this and you will eventually become discovered. Though it's not going to be easy. I've been acting for almost 9 years and yet I'm not famous.

Take acting lessons, for the next 10 to 12 years. Acting is a process and takes many years of study. Good Luck.

You really don't want to know, do you? It somtimes isn't about beauty, or even if you can act.
