Theater & Acting - June 2007

My daughter is 5 years old, and has been invited to an IMTA modeling/acting/singing/dancing convention. She wants to go for the acting and modeling portions. Has anyone gone to one, or taken their child to one? Any tips? Is it a hoax? Tell me everything!

ok, i've been acting only for my schools. I'm really good at it and people say i should go famos. I'm also good at singing and dancing. Acting is my dream. Stars on shows inspire me so much. I am getting sick of jobs that are not satisfying. I have a degree and do not have a problem getting hired. The problem is when the company realizes that I'm a good sales person, they stick me in sales. I hate sales. How do I break into TV, Films those people look like they are having fun making big bucks. I read a few books, but they just leave me right where I started. I don't want to do extra work becuase they are not allowed to have any speaking lines. I checked out craigslist and most of the jobs are bogus. Acting schools don't have the answers either becuse most acting coaches are just out of work actors. How can I get lucky like Charlize Theron where somebody walks up to me and puts me in the movies?

just out of high school and i have wanted to be an actress for a long time and it now or never. i was just wondering if anybody had any advice on how ot go about it..... besides the usual "enroll in acting classes". i have very little expierience just friends short movies and extra work on 2 feature films filmed here in chicago. i was thinking of moving to LA (not nessasrily to become an actress) but it seems too cliche for my story.
