My daughter is 5 years old, and has been invited to an IMTA modeling/acting/singing/dancing convention. She wants to go for the acting and modeling portions. Has anyone gone to one, or taken their child to one? Any tips? Is it a hoax? Tell me everything!

I work at the hotel in L.A. where their national convention is held. I'm also a professional actor. These people should be in jail. Stay away! Need to hear any more?

Well as far as I know about modelling, I've heard ones say that if the people ask for money, it's probably a scam. The company will invest in the model and if she needs "fixing up" they will eat the costs and take 10% of what she earns when she gets jobs. And if you're worried, I think the modelling agency will allow you to be with your daughter all the time if she is 5 years old.

I heard that a few actors were discovered at IMTA conventions such as Ashton Kutcher, Elijah Wood, Eva Longoria and Katie Homes. They came from small hometowns and that was how they got themselves out there.

the guy earlier me pronounced all of it...and confident, it is not a "perchance", having barbizon on your resume will make you a comedian tale to any expertise or casting agent. you have been robbed. do no longer do the convention.
