An avalanche is a natural phenomenon that occurs frequently when snowfall buildup accumulates on mountain sides. in layers which can suddenly separate and slide down hill with great force and destruction. Ski areas are accustomed to using explosives to cause the snow slide to occur safely, while there is no one in it's path...Avalanches are also commonly called " Snow slides"

An avalanche is when a bunch of snow breaks free and tears down the side of the mountain wasting everything in it's path.
