Blessed gave great suggestions. I would like to add:
Much More - Fantastics
Matchmaker - Fiddler on the Roof
How Lovely To Be A Woman - Bye Bye Birdie
The Trolley Song - Meet Me in St. Louis
Kindred Spirits - Anne of Green Gables
Anything Sharons sings in Finian's Rainbow

good luck!

Well, me personally, I think "Good Night my Someone" (from The Music Man) is a GREAT song.
I am a soprano as well, and it really is a good song if you want to get all of your high ranges in there.

It's funny, because every single audition that I have had for a play or anything musical related... I used that song!!! lol.
And since it is a good piece for soprano's, I have succeeded in making ever single audition I have had(b/c I sound good singing it). I am 16 as well. But if you want the role of Leisel, it is BEST to sing a song she sings... so the judges know how you sound singing it.
BTW "Good Night" is from the play, The Music Man. Look it up.
If you have any more questions, please fill free to ask. I am also auditioning for my school play, "The Wiz". I may need YOUR help.

If you're auditioning for Sound of Music then you should use a song in a "legit" style... not R&B, rock, or pop. Go for a song that will show off your range but fit the style of this Broadway show. Try the title song "The Sound of Music" or "I'll Know" from Guys and Dolls; "Just Once" from The Fantasticks or "People Will Say We're In Love" (Laurie's part) from Oklahoma! Break a leg!

I don't know if you have ever the movie "Mr. Hollands Opus", but there is a song in it that was sung by a girl by the name of "Roena Morgan" . There's an idea or you can try the song that was sung by a girl your age in the movie "Step-mom" who sung "Ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no mountain low enough...." there's another idea. I was in a school musical choir and we sang anything from "The Carpenters to Back Street Boyz" but ultimately it going to have to be something you feel comfortable doing. Given the fact that it is "The Holiday Season" your options are wide open. Also check out this website along with others www.lyrics.com
Best of luck & HAVE A BLAST!
