I am 14, and I would love to get signed to an acting agency, however, having done my research and have found that you have to have a resume. However, I have only ever acted in school productions. Can anyone help? (I live in the Channel Islands, UK)

That Marilyn Monroe was the first woman to leave Hollywood at the peak of her career to start her own production company and produce her own films? She was the only woman to challenge a major studio during a time of artistic repression for women, and for a sex symbol this was quite exceptional. I have noticed on this site that many people are unknowledgeable regarding Marilyn so I thought it would be interesting for many of you to know.

My 13-year old son has a script, which he wants to sell to Disney. I told him to write a letter stating who he is and just a small description of the story so that Disney will not steal the idea (which I think was pretty good for a boy his age). But what are words placed at the end of the letter that might encourage Disney to actually accept the script?

After I reviewed their contrat and realized they are selling membership which will get me discount for acting class, photo... and will get me in showcase meeting with agents. I have to pay a lots of membership fee upfront and pay discounted fee for all other things--acting costs$240, photshoot costs $75 (only 50 prints) modeling class $160, Singing class $160....Is that worthy to do this ? or I should go get my own photo and send it out to agents myself ? Has anyone had experience with them? Any result?

I recently read Arthur Miller's Memoirs in which he mentioned how when 'Death of a Salesman' was on Broadway, it showed to full houses every night, and he was making about $20,000 a week in royalties. The idea that a 'serious' play could have such an impact today seems basically 'zero' today. I've heard the arguments about ticket prices, competition from film, tv, but could the reason be that people no longer have a 'suspension of disbelief' but rather think that it's pretty dumb to watch real live people acting in front of you pretending they're saying and doing things that are just made up since it's so obvious that they are just 'acting.' And a related point, is there any playwright in the U.S. that can make a living just writing plays and not teach or write screenplays/teleplays as well.

I want to eventually be an actress, I took acting classes for a year or so when I was younger, and I've been in a few local plays. i'm going to audition for as many plays as I possibly can, and I am going to major in drama next year in high school....I was just wondering, from your point of view, what I can do, to get me more into character, and be as prepared as possible for the scene? Also what can I do that will help with stage fright. I don't have it, it's more like an adrinalin for me...but still. and what can I do, that will help me n the crying scenes? also, how do I connect as best as I can with the other person in the scene? if it's eitehr romantic..or not. THANK YOU DEARLY.

I've been acting for quite a long time now, and LOVE it! In gr.7 I got offered a job with a talent agency, but had to turn it down because my mom wasn't ready to let me into the business. I love theatre acting anyways. So I got into highschool and had no time for acting, and in drama class I'm shy to go full out in front of my peers. The school play leads only go to gr.12s so that's not an option. It's been a year and I'm settled in school now, Is there any way I can get back into acting not through my school? Are there full year round drama schools? I've been to quite a few summer ones... ideas?
