Oh boy...

It is my opinion that any company promising connections, casting, etc. for a fee is a scam.

Why not look them up here: http://ripoffreport.com/searchresults.asp?q5=kids%20talent%20network&q1=ALL&q4=&q6=&q3=&q2=&q7=&searchtype=0&submit2=Search%21&Search=Search To see if they have any complaints against them.

Also watch out for profiles like this one: http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile;_ylt=AkLi8Z7Ln90mOwmZo0IgxHKFxQt.;_ylv=3?show=6lW2cnuPaa
There were at least 5 of them, all linked who were on here asnwering each others questions, all making GRAND statements about how great KTN is and how successful their kids were with them. Most of the accounts have been deleted by Yahoo Answers because they were obvously advertising for the company. I find that to be fishy... dont know about you.

If you want to do things the right way, you get her into reputable acting classes. Have her start doing theatre. As her paret, network with the other parents to see who is signed with a real agent (no up front fees, etc.). Look for audition info on backstage.com, actorsaccess.com and through your state's film alliances, associations, etc. Just do a search for your state name and the word film. Once she has a good amount of training and a good resume, then you can look for an agent. If she's young and you want to start her with modeling or something, you can probably do that now. Take some snapshots of her and send them in.

You can look for legit agents here:
http://www.sag.org/sagWebApp/application?origin=page1.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.refresh&pageid=AgentInformation
http://www.backstage.com/bso/rossreports/directories.jsp - not free, but they have good info.

The casting sites aren't free either but they're the most reputable. If you're serious about it that's where you go.

good luck,
Marianne

If ANY agency believes that your daughter has talent, they will not require any money. This sounds like a scam, pay $500 and what do you get in return? A bunch of cattle call auditions that anyone off the street can walk into. You can find those on your own.

Take the money and invest it in excellent head shots and professionally done resumes. Then start a mass mailing to all agents accepting clients. then you will have to go do go sees to each of them. Focus on LA and NYC. Those are the busy hubs.

Depending on your daughter's talent, get her to pick up another discipline. If she acts she should dance. If she dances she should sing. Opens up a lot more options for her. And whatever you do...watch her like a hawk. We have enough Spears and Lohans to keep the rags happy.

Big Time Scam. My wife actually signed my son up and paid the $500 bucks. We were seconds away from divorce since she did this without my consent. She apologized profusely for doing this and now admits to this being a scam. After thoroughly looking over the contract it's apparent their is no way for me to sue them for my money back. Hopefully, it's not to late for you.

an agent will never ask for money up front. they will get 10% of the pay, but that's it. DO NOT PAY THEM ANY MONEY!
