The book is mainly written for children. But I see adults! camping out days prior to the official launch of the latest edition of Harry Potter! And the books are for themselves, not for a child. I just do not get it. I love books and I know I have my favourites, but someone please explain this phenomenon for me? Boy wizards? To a child the subject matter does makes sense but to an adult? Huh?

The books don't neccesarily have to involve magic or fantasy. My favorite things about the Harry Potter books are the amazing characters, the adventures, and the mysteries that are solved with logic. Does anybody know of books simliar to HP that are like that? I need something good to read now that Harry Potter is over! Thanks in advance !

If I write a book about myself, could I make up an alias name for myself (the author); in case somehow it became popular. Whats up with using alias names.

I've heard you're only supposed to concentrate on one literary agent at a time, but that seems like it would drag the process out longer than necessary. Wouldn't it be smarter to send it to a bunch of agents at once?

Or is that too obvious?

I'm a Stephen King fan, but not really in the mood to read one of his books right now. Something with humor that is heartfelt might be good. I've been thinking a lot about his short story The Body (which was made into the movie Stand By Me). Something along the lines of that would be great. Thanks

Ok, so in the book there is the avada cedvra curse (sp?) anyways, it is known as the killing curse and it is unforgiveable. I know that it is only used by voldemort and the death eaters. But i want to know if there r other non-law breaking ppl who use it also? Because, how else could mrs. weasly kill bellatrix? Or any Order members kill death eaters? Is there like another killing spell that is legal? Or do they also use the avada cedevra curse? Can someone explain?

For anyone who's self published a book who did you use as a service and what was your experience with them? Not as far as sales afterwards, just during the production phase, were you happy and feel like you got good service, or was it a nightmare? Thanks to all in advance.

Then he could have died his hair (and maybe combed it) and Voldemort would never have recognized him. Why didn't he do it?

I'm attempting to start a novel series. I plan on calling it The Chosen and having a subtitle on each novel. (i.e. The Chosen: The Assassin's Blade) yet there is a 1960s book called The Chosen. Would I be infringing on copyright issues to call my series The Chosen, or is it legally fine.

Her books are incredibly successful but I heard from different sources that they are not well written. Is this true? I like the books and have read every one of them (they are actually the reason I started reading in the first place) but whats wrong with them?

I thought it was absolutely amazing!!! So good, I can't describe it in words. If I were to describe it in emotion, it would be tear, laugh, and scream, and then a jump for joy! =)
lol
