If I write a book about myself, could I make up an alias name for myself (the author); in case somehow it became popular. Whats up with using alias names.

If you would like to use a pseudonym, I think you should.

Of course you can.Nomes des plumes(pen names)were all the rage in the 18th&19th centuries.Mostly,they were used to protect the true identity of the author for various reasons,but,female authors often used male pen names,becuase it was thought that a woman being an author was somehow"unfeminine is some circles.It was thought crass in other cases.

Writing a book anonymously has been done before, under a "nom de plume", or pen name. I know of no rule or restriction against it. However, if you were to become famous as a result of your literary genius, you'd want the world to know the real you. Then you'd have the opportunity to reveal your true identity, or an "unveiling" if you wish.....Just let us know when it becomes a best-seller! Good luck!

You should write it then have 1 copy just for her, unless you and her want to sell them at stores.
