Should we care about saving the earth so that we may live better lives (ie with less pollution) or do we actually care about what's happening to the earth, our home?
What's your point of view?

How many days, and hours of each day, we pass thinking and feeling utterly discontent, not being able to give or feel our best, oft time ignoring what we are, and constantly trying to live as a better person a better life only in our imagination?

What could you have been doing, for instance, right now if not what you are doing?

However better alternatives you might have in your mind, are just not there. Of course, you could imagine tens of things instead: a better house, a better companion, a better place, or a pay package, but a little honesty in thinking should be sufficient to reveal that the best is what we have, and whatsoever it may be.

If we just realise that what we have now, or what we are is the best so far, once we familiarise our mind with a notion of personal best, once the doors or pr perception are open in acceptance new possibilities come through allowing us to change and to get even better then it all depends upon the measure with which we regard ourselves.

I'm an artist and I would like to send some illustrations to a company that publishes childrens books. My website is www.9stines.com/Wanda and it has some of my designs on there. I am looking for specific advice and tips on submissions (I know to check guidelines)...just any folks with personal experience who have any tips to share, would be great. I'm a mom of seven children, and just now having time to begin this career as an artist. Thanks!

How about this one.....

My mind sharpens,
arcs towards distant evolution beyond time,
future from here, and in this exact moment simultaneous.
Release that empties, expands,
quiet, highest silence,
river of stillness,
pure self enveloped in pure non space,
no place, no names,
dissolve into glorious air.
Enter upon heaven, captures the being that I am,
embraces deepest reservoir, total imersion
into its inverted lake, head first into a dream,
fluid, infinite openness,
a wave upon wave of ever expanding bliss.
Silent realm of above ,
full, abundant water of eternal life,
I drink.

Do you have any books to suggest? Specifically "old" books that are still widely read today, just like "Pride and Prejudice"?

Where can one find signatures from old japanese wood print painters. I got some old japanese paintings, but do not know who the painters are, cause I can´t read japanese. So like to look up signatures to determent the painters. Thank you.

I'm looking for an audition song from a Broadway musical for a female girl about 11-12 years old. Please don't suggest "Wicked" or similar-type shows- yes, Wicked is a great musical, but honestly, the range will be horrific for someone so young who hasn't developed her belting power yet.

Basically, the song should be:
- Uptempo
- Alto-Low Soporano Range
- Broadway
- Not inappropriate - it's for a middle school production!

Thanks in advance, everyone. :)

In about 390 BC, Celtic soldiers (possibly mercenaries) sacked Rome - Rome broke one of the Celts rules of conduct and refused to make amends. After 3 months of siege, the Celts agreed to pull out (whether due to weakening strength of the Celtic army, or due to disgust at a "city" depends on which you believe). One report I have seen says that the agreement was "we will leave you alone if you leave us alone". Either way, the Celts left Rome alone, long enough for Rome to establish its powerful Empire within a few hundred years, while improving military tactics, shamed by their defeat.

What would the world be like had the Celts utterly destroyed Rome instead? Would the Celts eventually have been conquered by another culture, or would they have been strong enough to defeat the Angles, Normans, Saxons, and Vikings? Would Israel have given rise to Christ, without Rome? Would the Europeans have wanted to conquer America? What would our language be like?
