The Roman version of civilization was a double edged sword. In the long term, they bought benefits that included architecture and writing.

However, the Roman version of civilization was quite barbaric, descenters being executed in the most painful fashion. Many of the laws of the "Barbarian Celts" were actually a lot fairer than Roman justice. E.G. Under Celtic law, a family had a legal obligation to look after disabled family members. The Romans tended to impose their harsh beliefs upon the subject populations "Vae Victis".

Overall, the Roman impact was positive, however much of our original heratige has been lost and archaeology is only now, repainting the picture of pre conquest Europe.

The Romans conquered Greece and adopted Greek educational practices. I thank most of our knowledge and architecture from ancient Greece, if it wasn't for them Rome would not have educational practice in math, geometry..etc. I despise the sick Roman culture that was forced upon them and many others that were conquered and leached from.

I'm sorry I can't help but think how socially f*ucked up they were though...do you have any idea how many of our European ancestors were persecuted, raped and maimed by the Roman army? A very blood thirsty nation Rome is.

The roman games and circus the Roman Empire practiced zoophillia.
Here is an example of the kinds of torture they did to blond girls from the north.

Chimpanzees and mandrills, both in fact ferocious and very powerful species of primate: "made drunk by wine and inflamed by the odor of females of their kind, were loosed upon girls whose genitals had been drenched with the urine of female chimps and mandrills." The victims were often virgins and not infrequently young children. One spectacle is said to have included "a hundred tiny blonde girls being raped simultaneously by a horde of baboons."
