Is it okay even if I'm ugly (anyway not really so ugly) but smart. I think that I'm ugly because even my crush told me in person that I'm ugly. My crush have a crush on a beautiful but dumb girl. I'm intelligent ( I'm the top 2 in class ) but my crush doesn't like me. I've already took an IQ exam and I got superior (near to very superior ) and my crush is handsome and a little smart ( his IQ is average). I'm just thinking why would he choose a beautiful but dumb girl instead of me. His crush is famous because most of the boys have a crush on her. There are only few boys who have a crush on me but for me they are only my friends (they are the boys who doesn't care about looks), (even my bestfriend that is a boy have a crush on me). Pls. help me because of what my crush told me I don't have confidence in school coz' it's true that pretty girls have confidence than ugly girls. My girl bestfriend is the only one who helps me with my problem. We are the same (unattractive but intelligent).

How do we manage to get observation and interpretation mixed up?

The Rain Forests of Venus

Carl Sagan once told the story of early astronomers who looked up into the sky with their primitive telescopes and observed the planet Venus. It puzzled them greatly because Venus had no observable surface. Not at all like the Moon or Mars, it appeared just like a featureless, flat disc in the night sky.

"What on Earth could possibly explain that?" they asked. "Well, suppose it was covered in clouds." "Yes, that would explain it, since clouds obscure everything beneath them." So they continued, "What surface conditions are needed to make clouds?" "Well, heat, which we know Venus has because it's close to the sun, and water." That made sense, so they continued, "What kind of surface do you get when you have heat, light and water?" "Well, tropical rain forests, for one thing." That made perfect sense, so they concluded that the surface of Venus was covered with tropical rain forests

It could be your nearest and dearest, or your newest love in the first flush of the beginning of days, and you decide to do something different and sweet, and read a book to them in quiet intimacy.

What book would you choose?

(My picks have included
Jeanette Winterson - Written on the Body,
Doris Lessing - Briefing for a Descent into Hell
Milan Kundera's Laughable Loves)

Just really, really curious.
Forget about good and bad and try not to be judgemental or anything first. Just try thinking outside the box.
Let's say there are three choices:
A, B and C.
God gives you freewill but God wants you to choose A because if you choose B or C, you'll get in hell and be punished.

What then is the point of freewill when no matter what you choose, God's A will always get saved and gets to Heaven?

For those who wanna know:
A = Good
B = Bad
C = Neutral

What do you think?
Nothing. This just came up and Im quite disturbed. Really. ><

I've read quite a number of books, some of which have been made into movies. Movies that do not live up to the expectations, not of the reader, but of the book.

It is not the reader that we should be cocerned about, but the book.

The life that the book holds, has been put into a 9mm film that does not do the book justice, rendering it a mediocre attempt at bringing the work to life. Where does all the grace and glory that was in the book go, when it's made into a movie?
