why can't God send a prophet today? i thought God could do what He thinks is right and good. so why can't God

First of all, who said God CAN'T send a prophet today?

God could absolutely send a prophet today, if He so chooses. However, at the end of Revelation he stated that His Word is complete and should not be added to or subtracted from. He doesn't need to send prophets anymore.

There's a big difference between what one CAN do and what one CHOOSES to do. You answered your own question: God can do what HE thinks is right and good. What makes you think the only right and good thing is for God to send prophets? In the parable about the rich man and poor Lazarus, the rich man begged to have Lazarus sent back to Earth from Heaven to warn his brothers about Hell. The reply he received was that they (his brothers) already have Moses and the prophets, so if they don't believe them, sending another prophet won't change anything.

Isn't it enough already? If God will not send a prophet, does that question you faith or does that question His existence. Maybe, if God does not send a prophet, hHe can see who is really sincere with their faith.

For Christians, there are no more prophets since Jesus closed the chapter on the New Testament (unless you count Pat Robertson, Oral Roberts, and other televangelists who claim to speak to and for Jesus/God.)

Muslims have the prophet Muhammed and that's good enough for them. Those of the Jewish faith apparently are still waiting for their Messiah. The Tibetans are more fortunate, they have a living, breathing "prophet" in the Dalai Lama.

I don't think we would recognize a true prophet if we saw one, anyway.

Is he really there? maybe he was sent n gone unnoticed. if the devil managed to take out jesus then there is possibility he might b dead. oh one thing it seem as if all god"s prophet preach at the age of 30 and above.

the world( pagan world) must switch relligion with peace. we all want peace. relligion is separating and fuelling war.

Well, God can & would surely do what He wants, when He wants & i don't think He would take your permission/opinion to do it.
