I suspect your crimson is on the dark pinkish side whereas you were after a more fire engine red? I would try adding a little orange. Sometimes all you can do is experiment 'til you get what you want.
Any possibility of swapping the crimson bottle for the right one?

You can not change it to 'more red' just like you can not make green more yellow. (unless you actually ad the color you want it to be in the first place)
Crimson is a red. If you want a brighter red you should exchange it or buy a new one.

Well, it's crimson because it's red with some blue added, so I'm not sure how to overcome that. The best you could do is lighten it with white, but that's not going to make it a true red.
Sorry.

Well if your have a bright orange..but then that would lead to orangey crimson, if you add white to it, it would be a crisomsonish pink....or take it back and get a refund or keep it and buy what you need.

You need a cold colour to set those rich tones off. I would go for a slate-blue, kind of halfway between grey and blue.

Can't you take it back to where you bought it and swap it for the correct colour?
