A deeper understanding of how the union of a tiny sperm and egg can orchestrate into a human form and how can it slowly progress to this state having a mind and a body would enable you to see the relevance of many things including soul and ethics of living.

The "relevance" of ethics is that it is the science of protecting the rights of the downtrodden as well as those of the well-off.
The soul is the emotional seat of consciousness connecting one's value system with one's actions as regards those values. When you value another human, you hurt when you hurt them. When you value yourself, you feel self-esteem by sticking to your goals and your principles.

the greeks had a word for soul..."psyche"...its what moves us, like our "hearts"...but unseen...like a root

and the visible part, the fruit, could be called ethics

so maybe we can judge peoples souls by their ethics, as we can judge a trees roots, by it fruits...

not condemn, to know rightly...
