Try reading:
1) Lost Horizon by James Hilton, if you haven't already. It's the source of the word Shangri-la and it's one of my favorites among the classics...
2) 1984 by George Orwell. I agree with Annukya on this one. When I read it I was really unprepared by the onslaught of original ideas and social/political/philosophical questions and issues.. Given the state of world affairs and the ever present danger of authoritarian rule, I'm sure this book isn't going to be a regrettable read...
3) Call of the Wild by Jack London. It's like a thoughtful, painful, provocative biography of a dog... though I'm sure I don't justify it and you'll be touched by this.. when I read this it was like I felt every lash that landed on Buck's hide...
4) Tale of Two Cities. Wordy, but the climax, and Sydney Carton, are more than enough redemptive elements.
5) Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. It'll reintroduce you to optimistic, wide-eyed wonder at the beauty of the world, from the point-of-view of a young girl...
6) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I love her writing style and the points she raises; and brave, witty, somber Jane is an amazing character...
7) Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. It's like a comfortable spot beside the fireplace while the outer world snows...
8) The Dialogues of Socrates, and The Republic, by Plato. If you're going for "classic," why not head back to the Classical Age? The Ancient Greeks are a tough bunch to just dismiss

Since you mention Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, why not read all of her books? That's what I did and I loved each and every single one.
In order of first publication from Wikipedia:
Sense and Sensibility (1811)
Pride and Prejudice (1813)
Mansfield Park (1814)
Emma (1816)
Persuasion (1818) (posthumous)
Northanger Abbey (1818) (posthumous)
I don't know what you are looking for except for the fact that you wrote books that are still widely read. Well, Charles Dickens fits into that category as well and he is wonderful.
Here are the books that I have read by Charles Dickens:
Tale of Two Cities
Great Expectations
David Copperfield
Of course, he wrote many more and I am sure they are great too.
Happy reading!

nicely this could be a relaxing subject rely! First, The deliver Who Sang (i think of that replaced right into a coaching) is thru Anne McCaffrey. She is superb elementary for her fable, yet i actually enjoyed her Crystal Singer trilogy (lady with music information yet no longer adequate expertise "sings" crystal for a residing - large pay, besides the undeniable fact that it finally ends up making you loopy). Piers Anthony replaced into reported, and for him, my famous is the Adept series. it somewhat is a few guy with 2 diverse roles in 2 diverse dimensions. because it truly is been awhile on the grounds that I examine Crystal Singer and Adept, i'm no longer advantageous approximately their mature content textile. i'm particular there is no longer something extensive, although i think of the two substantial characters finally end up in relationships quicker or later. somebody additionally reported Uglies. this could be a factor of a chain (it replaced into 3 - yet another popping out quickly) by using Scott Westerfeld. once you turn sixteen, you pass from being an unpleasant to a surprisingly, in line with an operation. they alter you on the exterior and additionally, make some differences that won't be able to be considered. The others are Pretties, Specials and Extras. comparable author wrote Peeps and The final Days. Peeps are parasite positives, or vampires. it truly is set in ny. no longer your wide-unfold vampire e book, through fact it is not plenty approximately creatures of the night searching for sufferers, yet approximately why parasite positives are unexpectedly being created and what would desire to be taking place below the floor. those are YA. i'm uncertain if all and sundry reported Dune yet. (I appeared back and it somewhat is reported. there are a number of books interior the series now, along with his son writing it, too.) that's thru Frank Herbert. A planet of sand and spice, the place tears shed may be the dying of you. The e book is surprisingly powerful and the action picture, nicely, no longer the superb, yet I nonetheless stumbled on it eye-catching. have relaxing!

"Rebecca" by Daphne du Maurier. A most excellent book with a very, very interesting ending. Read the book before you watch the movie--and when you watch the movie watch the 1940 version, not the new one. It's a little slow in the beginning, but very, very good.
