There can never be life on Mars that humans can discover because humans would be the stronger of the species and would hence colonise the other species. If say the other species turns out to be stronger they would colonise humans.
With past experiences of colonisation, every nation threatened has fought eventually for their freedom which most have attained. If life was discovered on Mars and it turned out to be the weaker species, humans would eventually take over Mars entirely, making martians their slaves or inferiors.
I go as far as to say there is no life that will ever be discovered by humans or by any other being in the solar system,in terms of one species discovering the other due to the fact that it would mean eradication of the weaker species.
Positives say what if the species were the same in stature, then there would be war between planets not harmony.

OK so I know the writer's market online is the better choice cause it's more up to date. I'm going to ask for the 08 book for christmas since I won't need it until around then anyway. But my family isn't internet savvy and wouldn't know how to purchase an online subscription so I'd be better off to ask for the book with them. Does it come with an online subscription too? I saw something on the site where you could put in the code that came with the book or something...

{Written about "hunting season" when I heard 5 shots coming from the direction of the house and the panic I feared as I raced to check on the kids, I was only 100 ft away}

Five shots were heard
five kids at home
The eldest sat
while Mom was gone

Working on
the families farm
Setting up their
chicken barns

Five shots were heard
five kids at home
Striking Mom to
panic alone

A haunting chill
shot through the air
Mom raced to
the house with care

Five shots were heard
five kids at home
She thought she
heard the little one

Screaming as
the others bled
Five gun shots,
one for each head

Five shots were heard
five kids at home
She locked the doors
cause she’d be gone

Oh no (she thought)
one fed the dog
Left the door open,
it’s all my fault!

Five shots were heard
five kids at home
How could she live
with her kids gone?

Tears in her eyes
she died inside
As life and death
came to collide

I mean us as in destroy the human soul, belief, religion, and faith, as well as weaponry.
We have so much now, artificial insimination, cloning, new aircrafts are created, now cities are built, flying cars. Soon reguvanation, reanimation of a body, hibernation, robots, artificial inteligence. All these bafle the Bible or any sort of belief for that matter. Humans can become like machines, cyborgs.
Will these things, and many others, eventually destroy us?

Everything that has ever happened on Earth seems somewhat relevant to understanding our origins, our nature, and what we can expect in the future. Much of who we are as humans has yet to be discovered. But what if we were somehow destroyed in a sudden way, leaving no trace of our culture, our philosophies, our beliefs. Perhaps only the Mars Landers and satellites would remain as evidence that a civilization existed in our galaxy. What purpose would all of existence have served? What meaning would all of the struggle and acheivement have meant? Are we and everything around us simply souless bioligical consequences of some cosmic accident?

Hey there! Well, I'm in college, I've read lots of books out there. LOTS. And so I'm looking for some unusual novels, short stories, epics, poems, anything that reads well and is interesting.

I love Fiction. Historic Fiction and Fantasy are two of my favorites but I'll read anything I can get my hands on. So I'm wondering if anyones got any suggestions?

The basics are mostly down. Harry Potter, some Shakespeare, Dan Brown, James Clavells, and lots of Aesop. Robin Hood was pretty good too. But anyways, I'm looking for awesome stories, old or new. Big or small, I'm not picky. Just something good and different!

Thanks!

I've read dozens of Stephen King's books. He's my favorite author of all time. I've read all the Bachman books. My question is this. Does anyone think that the Bachman books are VERY VERY subpar compared to the King books? I'd go as far as to say that the Bachman books are NOT good. I wonder what the difference is since it is coming from the same mind.

I write the weekly bulletin for our church. One of the announcements that goes in every week is for the tuesday Men's prayer breakfast, and I am looking to jazz it up a bit.

What I am looking for are some colorful ways to describe doing the cooking. I stead of the same old, "John Smith will be cooking this week", I would like some new phrases, like,
'slinging hash' or 'wielding his spatula'.

Original is good, funny is great. Of course, this IS for a church, so it has to be clean. Any help would be much appreciated!

Manic

Truth be told, I am a 'Manic'
Poppin' pills ta stray from panic
People think that I,m so sick but,
No, no, no, that's pure bullsh*t

I jump from calm to eerie frantic
Fidgit, fidgit systematic
Hooha laughter doing slapstick
Through town square, (became a classic)

I'm in your head, that dusty attic
See you too contain a phobic
Is it systic? Is it mystic?
How much of there really is it?

Judge me not you hypocrits
You'll find I'm truly a psychic
Go manic head on with a critic
This time 'round, it ain't no bullsh*t

In a calm from raging panic
People exhale unnerving tics'
Catch a break from freakish frantic
'Till the next time I am manic...

The fuel delivery driver pulled into a busy terminal, the lot was full of travelers, their vehicles were lined at the pumps when an explosion could be seen from miles away. The bomb splattered his blood first, and then his truck, tearing an instant gash into the metal container lighting the spilled fuel as it spread across all those vehicles, flames everywhere. One vehicle escaped the inferno by refusing to stay there, trapped and burned alive. The father drove the family through a barrier of flames, the rubber on the tires were burning to. He managed to drive through a small opening of vehicles out into a safe place not far from the terminal. He has divine guidance, his family saved.
