Regional disputes however, quickly compelled Qatar to resign and declare independence from the coalition that would evolve into the seven-imarat United Arab Emirates. many countries have changed independence days. sometimes politics change and different people see fit to celebrate different occasions. I'm from Poland and since we changed from pro-communist to pro-western all the major holidays have changed. simple really.
