OK so I know the writer's market online is the better choice cause it's more up to date. I'm going to ask for the 08 book for christmas since I won't need it until around then anyway. But my family isn't internet savvy and wouldn't know how to purchase an online subscription so I'd be better off to ask for the book with them. Does it come with an online subscription too? I saw something on the site where you could put in the code that came with the book or something...

There used to be a more expensive deluxe edition that comes with the online access. Im not sure they still do that or not. Anyway the internet access is only 3.99 a month. You can always ask them for a pre paid credit card. They sell them at drugstores and stuff. You can use it to purchase the online subscription. You can probably buy one yourself.

I don't believe it does. There may be a way to purchase it through the book club, I'm not sure.. or perhaps Writer Digest has a gift certificate that they could get for you, and you could in turn use for the online market.

BTW, the market book does have some really good information beyond the markets, articles and advice from publishers and agents, and other writers. so the give of the book isn't a bad idea. I have several and hate to get rid of them, even though the markets are outdated.

I think the online market has some articles too, but I've never gone into them.
