In my photograhpy class we are making photograms, and we need translucent things...like jewelery, plastic, pop bottles...toothpicks...salt..things like that, that light can go through,...
And I dont know what else to bring. I want it funky and crazy..my friend is bringing in cotton balls, feathers, yarn and things like that..

Another friend used her hands...and brought in her mouse...how could that work..light cant go through them??

but anyway
my point is i need a list of things that are possibilities for bringing in

cause we get to use the dark room, enlarger, all the chemicals, the whole 9 yards haha...

any ideas would be appreciated

In addition to going to a 99 cent store, you may also want to try an old antique shop or a thrift store. they sometimes have some really old, cheap interesting things that may work really well. anything such things would probably also be pretty unique.

In my photography class, I did a photogram using one of those bead animals (a dragonfly I think) with the translucent plastic beads. It turned out really cool. I think I added other smaller dragonfly jewelry around it.

What might be cool is if you could find several small squares of glass and overlap them in different areas. It would make a cool abstract geometric design.

Tissue paper might work well too.

The mouse would be int resting so long as you keep out of the chemistry! the light would 'go around" the object and make a shadow on the photo paper, so long as the critter didn't move.Try glass objects, leaves and flowers are fun, thin fabric,I've used photocopies, if the paper they're printed on is thin enough. The finished picture is a negative of what you started with.

Clear or translucent marbles. A dollar bill. An old negative. A string of beads.

Go to your local dollar/99 cent store. They have toys, plates and glasses, plastic wraps, etc..., lots of different things without spending a bundle.

...and cut crystal is fun as well as challenging.

Oops. I just realized what you meant! Cut crystal would still be pretty cool, as there would be "stray" light all over the place.
