i like stories that has a touch of reality to it. plus i like things that are funny, withour too much twists that makes my head spin. i like things like 'the bad mother's handbook', which is realistic and funny. i also like autobiographies about interesting people. recently i read about victoria beckam (just because i wanted to know how it feels like to be famous and rich for no reason), and diana: the true story (cos i've been curious about how it feels like to live in royalty). i also LOVE a walk to remember and love story. i like love stories, but not soppy and cheesy ones. i love the ones that are intelligently written, not just any bimbo chic read. any ideas? and please tell me roughly what it's about. i'm deprived of books but i can't find any that's good enough!thanks!!!

Silly question, I know...
Gene Roddenberry presented us with a positive future where wars, hunger, hatred, money, greed have been eradicated, and "Man" live only to better themselves.
This appeals to me!
But reading History does not give me the impression that we are going that way! More towards the opposite, towards self-destruction.
Do you think "we" have a chance to make good and survive for milleniums, become a "grown up" civilisation? And if so, when?

It seems to me that art, just like music and movies should sink or swim on their own merit. Can someone familiar with this subject let me know why tax dollars are being funneled to artists?

I was just thinking about the book when I stumbled on this.In book7,JKRowling says food is one of the exceptions to Gamp's law of elemental transfiguration. If it is so,then how does McGonagall produce those chicken and ham sandwiches and pumpkin juice in Chamber of Secrets?(pg no.65)She used her wand,so it was not elf magic. Please don't tell me she had some food tucked away in her pockets and multiplied it.

PS:Can I get a star?
