ok, is this possible at all if you have talent but not the connections. personally, i believe it's all about how good you are and not the people you know but how do you break the ice. thanx.

It's about how good you are AND who you know, or at least how good you are at getting to know the right people. Best suggestion is to write the best material you can and submit it to competitions, join industry related organizations and mingle with other people in the industry, and if you're still a student you should try to get an internship with a studio so you can make good contacts (you can also try the Writer's Guild as they have great internships for writers). Remember to be true to yourself. People that you meet in the industry are just people and not some kind of gods. Good luck.

Yepp I agree with the previous answer. Just keep writing and one day, you will be discovered. But to increase your chances, do take part in more competitions so that renowned directors out there will have a chance to take a look at your pieces of work and then possibly shortlist you under the talented people.

The people out ther who are all famous and so all started like how we did. Hence, we can always be like them too. Just believe in yourself that you can succeed and give it your best everytime you write something new. Personaly, I want to be a scriptwriter for movies or some sort too. But I do not have the connections too.

But ultimately, take part in more competitions. I think it'll really help. Oh, please share with me if there are any opportunites too cos I'm so interested in this industry. Haha. Thanks.

Good luck for your aspiration. :)
