Happiness is an emotional or affective state that is characterized by feelings of enjoyment, pleasure, and satisfaction. As a state and a subject, it has been pursued and commented on extensively throughout world history. This reflects the universal importance that humans place on happiness.
States associated with happiness include well-being, delight, health, safety, contentment, and love. Contrasting states include suffering, depression, grief, anxiety, and pain. Happiness is often associated with the presence of favorable circumstances such as a supportive family life, a loving marriage, and economic stability. Unfavorable circumstances, such as abusive relationships, accidents, loss of employment, and conflicts, diminish the amount of happiness a person experiences

I am very intrigued by your question it has really got me thinking what is happiness. I seem tot hink that as we all live our lives we set goals and achivevements we have fantasys the thing is though will thoose fantasy really make us happy if we persuit our dreams will that make us happy, i truley believe that when we get something we always wont more nothing makes us happy. The saying be careful what you wish for does have a true menaing because when you get what you wish for tis nothing like what you imaginined its usually disatserous and ahs the opposite effect. I belive we set our goals for a reasoon not to achieve them but jsut for the purpose of something to lust something to hope for to keep us going and i believe that true happiness is not possible even if youn are the richest person in life because usually its the other wayabout people who have life threatining illness' usual are much more positive about life because they live it too the full and thats what real happiness is, well iu belive so. Anyway i hope my views mean something to you sorry about the length.

Happiness is the extreme emotional feeling of a person. For me it is the most important feeling than anyone must experienced. Happiness is the way we should be on this earth. Happiness is the very purpose why we ought to live in this world. I don't see any other reasons why one should be neglected of happiness. Without happiness one is not committed to live. This is our purpose in life to seek and live with happiness.
Good important question!

Happiness is a state of mind arising from positive satisfaction..... the happy moment is positive rather than neutral and hence gives a feeling of excitement in which one forgets oneself for the time being.
A more tranquil state of mind arising from contentment is usually neutral and can last long.... we normally call it eternal joy..... this is not positive or exciting in nature, it is just a steady state of inner peace which external influences can not disturb either in a positive or a negative manner.

For me it's simply a feeling of contentment. A little peace in my little world; even a feeling something may possibly go right in the bigger world. That's happiness.

Most simply ( and this you can realize in everyday life) happiness is within you when you get rid of a wish within you, either by it being fulfilled or it being eradicated by thoughts.
Others are pleasures, not happiness.
