The Australians were members of SEATO, the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization. They committed their forces to help an ally in accord with their obligations under the treaty.

They fought as our allies and, were some of the best fighters in 'Nam. I was there and were next to them several times.
You have to go into some site for the country and their military.
