Good to ask this in History section and not Religion.

God had always been feared ... or served ... but to see God as a Father to love and be loved by was revolutionary on the border of arrogance (which is why he lost the religious leaders).
He taught the relationship of God as a Father with the parable ofthe Prodacal Son and praying to him as "Abba" (beloved Father)

Who is an interesting question. In Aramaic Jesus means "King of The Jews". Interestingly, Barabus translates as "The Son of God". This offers a few interesting questions about the crusifiction.

So as far as getting a name for the person, nobody knows, although Joshua Ben Joseph has been bandied about. some scholars state that he may have been the brother of James, but the jury is out on that one.

The version of Jesuses life that we read in the Bible was primarily the creation of Saul/Paul and there is some evidence to sugest that he borrowed and made up parts (E.G. The cult of Mythras, which had been in existance for over 100 years before the Birth of Jesus, believed that their god was born in a stable and suffered for the good of his people). In any event, Peter described Paul as a lyer. That said, Constantine also had a heavy influence as the the content of the new testiment (Possibly to ensure that Rome remained a powerful force in the world, but also as a vehicle to ensure that his armies thought for him initially).

Taking the deification aspect out of this, it is probable that the man called Jesus was a political animal. Today we would probably brand him with the same brush as Bin Laden.

It is possible that the purpose of his actions was to actually surplant Herod. To do this he would need to be anointed in the same manner as David. To this end an alliance with a religiouse leader "The Son of God" would be desirable. The prime suspect for this being John the Baptist, closely followed by James as a last minute replacement.

One could suspect that the whole purpose of Jesuses actions was to sut up the Jewish equivelant of an Islamic super state.

As I said at the begining, we don't even know the guys name, let alone paint an accurate picture of his motives/actions.

Luck

Jesus Christ is known as the son of God. He was born as a baby and brought exactly the same way as us, but before he was born he was already dedicated to God. As he grew up he would go around the world teaching God's word (The Old Testament of The Bible). God gave him the power to do many miracles. Such as turning the water into wine,(no, he didn't get drunk) healing people of diseases, casting demons away from peoples body etc. He was accused of destroying a market place but he actually did it because it was supposed to be a temple of God. So they put a crown of thorns and hung him on a cross where his feet and hands were nailed to, But amazingly after being dead for 3 days, he resurrected from the dead and went on to teach about God's word! This was known as Jesus Christ's greatest miracle. The day that Jesus was born on is known as Christmas and the day that Jesus resurrected is known as Easter.

Jesus Christ was a time traveller. He travelled back through time with various cures for the various diseases and made a name for himself that way. "Jesus touched him and he was heeled....". Whats to say that the touch was in fact an injection of the cure. You know the way stories change from mouth to mouth. You think I'm being funny!!! This is the truth, think about it!!

No one knows. There is one historical reference to the execution of a criminal with a very similar name, around te rght time for the crucifixion - from the Jewish histrian Josephus - who wrote 100 yaers or so later.

This is the closest anyone's come to establishing an historical figure for jesus christ - otherwise he's as fictional as harry potter.
