I am a "Thriller" book fanatic and have read a huge percentage thats out there, so here are some excellent choices (I was going to say "page turner" until I heard the joke "why do people say this book is a real page turner--I know how books work!) Jeffery Deaver, Dennis Lehane, David Morrell and Lee Child, in my opinion they are the best thriller writers in the business!! I am a avid reader in this genre and have read Coben, King, Koontz, F. Paul Wilson, Connelly, and many others but none can touch these authors I've listed! The Deaver book I've just finished reading now is "The Sleeping Doll"--a brand new release and has literally keeped me up at nights!! I'm quite sure you'll love his other thrillers as well, such as "The Bone Collector", "A Maiden's Grave", "The Coffin Dancer", "Praying For Rain", "Cold Moon", "The Twelveth Card", "The Vanished Man", "Devil's Tear Drop" et el. For Lehane, start with "A Drink Before War" (don't let the title fool you) then "Darkness Take My Hand", "Sacred", "Gone, Baby Gone", "Prayers For Rain", "Shutter Island" and "Mystic River." For Lee Child, you can start with his first and move forward, but it's Ok if you don't. Some personal favs are: "One Shot", "Trip Wire", "Hard Luck and Trouble"--a new release, "The Persuader"-my personal fav, "The Hard Way", but they are all page turners! Also, last but definately not least is David Morrell. All his books are good, but I especially enjoy his last two releases "Creepers" and "Scavenger" which are guaranteed page-turners. Just finished my first Ed Mcbain book "Fiddlers" and it was both engaging and hilarious! Hope this helps, enjoy, Greg

Depends on you tastes.

Good heartwarming fiction - The key trilogy by Nora Roberts
I would highly recommend this series as a good all around series. Even one book in it is good. About three woman who while dealing with daily life must search out three keys to free the souls of three maidens that have bean captured for thousands of years.

Science Fiction - To Ride Pegasus , To Bridle Pegasus , Pegasus in Space by Anne McCaffrey
About Psychics and there need to legitimize themselves and there work.

Almost real fiction - Slipt by Alan Dean Foster
About a man who must run from a business man who is out to get him for his Psychic power. He must also save his niece at the same time.

Fantasy - Xanth - any of the first 12 books in the series are worth reading. They all have there merits and detractors. Though I started with Nightmare. About a Nightmare and her journey across Xanth.

Sience or History - Don't really need a book for this. Just pick your favorite subject , or one you are curious about and go to:
http://www.wikipedia.org/

These are the only genres I have read. So that is as far as my expertise goes. Sorry if I didn't include anything you like in the list. Though the first series of books is the one I would most highly recommend.

Do you like Dragons. Especially good dragons. Then read DragonSinger and DragonSong by Anne McCaffrey

Want a free book you can read on your computer. Then go to:
http://www.baen.com/library/
The publisher believes that the Authors should have the right to show off there full works for free.

Still Life With Crows by Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston. Seriously, I've read a lot of books, and this is the most well written book I've ever read. It's a horror/mystery book and you will never guess how its going to end!

I'm reading Animal Farm currently. It's really short yet profound, or so i'm told. I'll have to be the judge for myself. I also recently purchased 1984, A Clockwork Orange and Brave New World.
