It could, by accident and not by design. Just to avoid such an eventuality, God has provided him the pouch for storing food and not keeping its young there. He seems to have taken care of every minute detail...

No, "marsupial" indicates a pouch containing mammary glands specifically adapted for raising young.
The pouch on a pelican is not anatomically analogous to the pouch on a marsupial.
It would just have two pouches, each with a different specialized function.

That's like asking if humans had feathers instead of hair would they fly on one leg?
Anyway, pelicans only eat the young of other species - fish mostly. Although I did once see a seagull trying to grab a fish from a pelican's beak, and almost ended up in his gut.

I did my research, and I think I understand your question....marsupials are mammals that have pouches for their young to live in till they are old enough to move out...now pelicans have a ''pouch'' on their beaks. It would be highly probable that, if pelican's kept their young in their ''beak pouch'', they would accidentally swallow it's young.

That's just a silly question. It would carry its young the same as all marsupials.

One has nothing to do with the other. Marsupial's don't eat through their pouches.

Would a dolphin? When animals eat their young it is usually in response to contamination or extreme threat (stress, post traumatic stress disorder). I didn't know they did not.

Yes, I believe that might just happen.
I'd feel awful being the parent.
Some people just don't know how to use their imagination when it comes to answering.
