You would write about women who went into the factories to work while men were away fighting. You could also write about women who enlisted in the armed forces. You could write about women coping with rationing and other material shortages at home during the war.

More women were employed outside the home during WWII than at any other previous time in our history. This was when Rosie the Riveter learned to build planes and jeeps and tanks.
This was also when a military clerk named Grace Hopper who worked with the FIRST big computer and went on to become a Rear Admiral.
The problem was when the men came home the women were expected to quietly give up the jobs they'd been filling. Some didn't go quietly and a lot no longer wanted to stay home and just tend to family. It was the true beginning of women's liberation.

It might be easire if you had read some books written by women during or about that time period, but even for women in the U.S. you should still be able to do research and pick some aspect (e.g., keeping a family functioning while husband was away; living under rationing; worrying about soldiers (e.g., their son, brother, husband) at risk overseas; wondering if the war would come to the U.S. itself; deciding to work in a factory) You need to WORK on this, not wait for some inspiration to fly into your head.

Rationing. No men. Working outside the home for wages. Being both parents and working while having no money all while waiting for THE telegram.
As one contributor noted - we owe these women A LOT. They did not go quietly back to the kitchen after the War!

Start with Rosie the Riveter, rationing, and the aspect of having almost all eligible men between the ages of 17-to mid-30's at war, having spouses, boyfriends, family in a war that was thousands of miles away.

Write about the women who went to work on building the Liberty ships. My Mother did that along with hundreds of thousands of other women.

Women ran all the factories and everything while the men were at war didn't they? And played baseball too I think.

Okay there is a mix of topics on women in ww2,
Remember to list your sources, teachers like that sort of thing
As well as quoting from the pages, remember to show that you understand what you are saying. Or you could loose marks for not being clear. Good luck
