He dresses in every hue of blue
with his pair of thinning jeans
he is the boy
constantly flicking his ebony hair
out of those
gorgeously enticing blue eyes
which dance whith his inviting smile
the smile that lurks in the corners
of your memory
forever playing on your heartstring
like a foriegn harpist

you don't always notice him
his gentle nature
quietly watching you
as he slips through the back gate
he sldes up behind you
as your shifting through long lost memories
he wraps loving arms around you
entranced by your avid gazing into nothingness

but i
the foriegn girl
in a stranger's world
have looked beneath
this simple apparition of a lost adolesence
and seen the saving grace
which radiates from within

I have heard that 25% are hispanic-americans, but how many are irish-americans, polish-americans, italian-americans, etc. or how many are of mixed ethnic origin. I know back in the 1930's as well as today many catholic ethnicities are intermarrying as well as many converts are marrying in and out of the religion.

Something has happened to my name
something different
something deeper
than my mere physical presence

I am not the same person
as i was a month ago
as i was only days ago
i have been changed
by the eternity of time
like a canyon carved
by an ever flowing river

the water rushes through me
cutting me down until my trucore
my true heart
is exposed
for the world to gaze upon

Eternity beams down on us all
watching
a moon among stars
eternity is always changing
but always the same
guiding us, blinding us
watching us

something has happened to my name
i am not the same person
who wrote this poem

I really like sci-fi/fantasy, drama, and romance. Looking for something fairly large too.... needs to be at least 600+ pages. Any ideas?

What would happen if........instead of using Weapons of Mass Destruction to do each other in, we fought our Wars with Love? Lets say we can't use violence against each other, only good deeds. No unkind words can be spoken aloud. Rather than expressing Hate, we have to express Tolerance? The Hostile Powers to be were jovial? Would that be a grievous threat to manKIND? Can we kill each other with kindness?

This has been bugging me...When Kreacher was telling his story about how he went with Regulus into the cave with the locket horcrux, he said Regulus drank the potion (before, when Kreacher and Voldemort went into the cave, Kreacher mentioned that Voldemort put more potion into the bowl holding the locket), but Kreacher didn't have extra potion to but back in the bowl. How is it then, in book 6, there is potion in the bowl for Dumbledore to drink?

"For the word 'We' must never be spoken, save by one's choice and as a second thought."

I need help understanding this quote from her book.

I understood the first part, but once "as a second thought" entered the sentence, it became a tad confusing.

Rowling is not completely clear that Voldemort cast the killing curse and that Harry cast his trademark disarming curse. I have searched Yahoo! Answers but can't find anyone with my theory:
I think H. cast the killing curse because he knew V. would be expecting the disarming curse - H. was cautioned earlier not to make that his trademark. AND V. was loosing confidence that the killing curse would even work on H. - it failed twice before!
I know the paragraph after the curses were cast says that V.'s green jet came from his wand, but it was never clear that only the killing curse was a green jet.
At the beginning of the 4 page dialog between H. and V., H. quotes the prophesy and declares that V. will be the one who dies - to me, that means H. fulling intended to use the killing curse.
V. may not have been convinced that H. was the true master of the Elder wand, but by disarming H. first, it would certainly have ensured him as the master, THEN the killing curse would work.
Theories?...

(I'm 34 so I'm past the Sweet Valley High phase)

I went to the library and didn't know what to pick. If you have read any really good books lately, I would appreciate some recommendations. I don't like science fiction or Harry Potter stuff. Romance and stuff would be ok, but not too trashy.

If they do, then why do so many published books get bad reviews? And why do so many successful books have a hard time getting published?

J.K. Rowling was rejected by 12 different publishers! I bet they're still kicking themselves over that decision.

which keeps us FIGHTING.....
which keeps us STRONGER....

*** i havent cried over a National Georgraphic program, but i just did... it was about a grey whale cow(mother) who kept fighting against orcas(killer whales) for her calf's life....
very inspiring, because after 4 hours of brutal battery from a pack of orcas(12 killer whales), the mother whale never left her calf's side and were able to survive.....
another emotional day for me.... :-)

I've been toying with a few stories that involve copyrighted characters. Basically, I was creating a story, adding my family in to the original storyline. Some family members would like me to write it and distribute it to family. I'm considering writing the 2 stories and distributing them to family, but only family. Would I get in trouble? I've considered contacting the company that owns the rights to the characters, but I don't want to seem silly, or like I'm looking for a job!
