Hi,
I want to learn about the history of South America - particularly the contribution of Simon Bolivar.
What are good books to start?

After an exhausting two day climb, the seeker gained the mountain top and stood before the Hermit. "I am told," He said, "That you are the Wisest Man in the World." The Sage pondered briefly and lifting his arm to point to the East said, "Nope. He's on that mountain over there."

After the Seeker had gone, the Student emerged from the cave and asked, "Master, that poor man spent two days climbing the mountain to see you. Why did you send him away?"

"I did not send him away. I told him that what he sought was elsewhere. He will not find it here. You endured the same ordeal. Said the same thing to me and got the same reply. Yet you stayed. Why?"

The student set his jaw and said, "Because after spending two days climbing up here, I wasn't going to leave until you taught me SOMETHING!!!" After a pause, he said. "Oh."

Snape was in love with Lily?? He WAS on Dumbledore's side all along? I wouldn't have guessed that in a million years.

"Love"

The love of the most innocent
Beyond measure and without consent
Is increasiningly common among
The dreams of the past.
Without the love of the child
That walks by your door every night
And sleeps by your side within
The cavities of your heartbroken
Soul,
The world pulses with delight
At the evanescent appearance of
The pure lily within our essence.
No mind
Is without love and
No heart
Without consent...
Contracts beneath the flesh,
Expected of today.
I am this child
Beneath your lie, beneath
Your mind of thoughts, not your tears, angst, or sacrifices.
Come back to me, your life is mine, as well as yours.
But tonight, lies will fade, and nothing exists between us.

Artificial light confuses,
Gypsy and diamondback moth,
Mock moons on a shifting horizon,

Pear tree perched swallows,
Feast on codling flutterers,

Cabbage and watercress,
Will not morn the loss,
Of such insatiable appetites.

They lie in there together
I lie in here alone
Why it has to be this way
I think I'll never know

I met a man
But couldn't stay
I loved him
But I ran away

Is this my fate
I'm not amused
What do I do
I'm so confused

So, this is the thing. This morning I realized that I've lost my paycheck and I locked myself out of my house and had to ask my Grammy to take me to my brother's work to get the house key. I feel like poo and would like a happy, funny poem to make me feel better.

Can you help?

Do you like poetry that has beautiful stanzas, yet the message is vague and able to apply to almost anything in a beautiful way, or would you prefer poetry that is straight forward as well as beautiful?

Happy friendship all over the world :D Great minds discuss ideas ; Average minds discuss events ; Small minds discuss people ; Beautiful young people are not accidents of nature , they are a gift from god . learn from the mistakes of others. you cant live long enough to make them all yourself. Yesterday is past, it is history. Tomorrow is future , it is a mystery . Today is present , it is a gift. It is National Friendship Week. There is a miracle called friendship , that dwells in the heart . You do not know how it happens or when it gets its start . Friendship fills our lives with beauty, joy, and grace and makes the world we live in a better and happier place. May God bless us always in all ways.
