I am making a senior book this year and I can't figure out what to put in it! I know about the basic pages ( favorites, classes etc.) but whatelse can I put in it to make it unique and fun? There are a lot of pages and I don't really want to leave any blank.

I've found this word in several Victorian era novels. Apparently it refers to some sort of sexual act, but I've never found a clear definition.

I'm writing a book and I unwittingly used an orphanage in the XVIth century without knowing what status this sort of institution had at that time. Were they strictly affiliated to the church? Or could civilians also run one? If so, did they need some sort of legal approval? Or did they simply need the support of members of the nobility/rich individuals?

Game

I was playing a game
On my papers scribbling my name
Pretending I have found fame

Others joined in my game
Pretending they knew my name
Acknowledging my fame

Others have played this game
Pretending everyone knew their name
Pretending they belonged to fame

I think that Homer Sompson must be descended from these fools.

It's all very silly. All of a sudden the Trojans wake up one morning and the Greeks have gone. And there outside the city walls they've left this gift; this tribute to their valiant foes: a huge wooden horse, just large enough to happily contain 500 Greeks in full battle dress and still leave adequate room for toilet facilities? Are you telling me not one Trojan goes, "Hang on a minute, that's a bit of a funny prezzy. What's wrong with a couple hundred pairs of socks and some aftershave?" No, they don't -- they just wheel it in and all decide to go for an early night! People that stupid deserve to be kerpowed, zapped and kersplatted in their beds!

You know what the big joke is? From this particular phase in history we derive the phrase, "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts". Not logical.

How stupid were they?!

Beauty, as a component of attraction, is mathematical -the perfect face is a math ratio of 1:1.16. perfect faces are considered more attractive due to genes and lack of diesease. Attraction is chemical in the main - the whole crazy in love thing is a pheremonal thing - the rest of it seems to be power, territory and the use of resources - or the human equivelent of power & wealth - so is it love or a number of massive triggers to make us propagate the species?

I'm not being cynical - just dipassionate - I found the things I read & learnt compelling

Tattybow has posted some of her poems on here and last week she said I should post one so here goes, I hope you like it. It's dedicated to the soldiers who died on all sides in WW1
Ploughing Flanders Fields

Ploughing Flanders fields is what I wish to do,
Instead of hearing gunfire, seeing the bloods red scarlet hue.
When the sun dawns every morning, the same each day does yield,
Tell my mother that I ploughed all night in Flanders fields.

With the whistle so shrill to the ear,
Over the top go boys in their 18th year,
Never knowing what to them the fates might yield.
Tell my mother that I ploughed all day in Flanders fields.

Ploughing Flanders fields is what they are doing now.
Over 90 years of time gone by the hills with grass are browed.
With the scent of wild poppies, the sweet perfume they yield.
Tell all the little children that I rest in Flanders fields.
