Medoc is a red wine...

Red wine colour...

The Medoc is a wine producing region in Bordeaux which is in South-West France. It is know for its reds which are "a fine ruby red colour".

The person who used the term is probably a wine connaisseur as Medoc is not generally as well known as say Burgundy.

OK, as French I can tell you exactly what Médoc is; it's related to wine but it's not a French wine.
It's a South West area/region just above Bordeaux by the river called La Garonne...

But as a colour, it's not a dark red, neither a bright one.
It's more like deep red...

Hope it helps!
