Despite the tiltle they were not full blooded or practicing jews. They were part or half-jewish that were declared "Aryan" because one of the parents had good connections.

A few other good books on the German armed forces:
Renegades: Hitler's Englishmen
by Adrian Weale
An interesting account of Englishmen in Hitler's SS.

Ordinay Men is fantastic! (reading it now)

I didn't know that Hitler used Jews in the Wehrmacht. I actually didn't know he got to pick individual soldiers and their pedigree. Did these jewish soldiers take part in the Holocaust, because that I knew: it's in a lot of movies, young jews are taken as extra task force to round up their kin and they are either integrated into the mass for work or kept in the military service if they had the will. If it was more of a question of using jews to, say, fight against the russians in 1941-42, that would make a great deal of sens to me because Hitler was gaining a lot of ground and his army wasnt really increasing, so its quite economical just to use locals as foot-soldiers. If these were jewish, I didn't know.

Do you know which part of the Wehrmacht was jewish and when they were used?

thanks

Hitler himself was christian not an atheist. Web page quoted has interesting facts. People must know the truth. More research will reflect his true personality. Obviously he must be having many inherent weaknesses and created the mess.

Interesting. Ordinary men is another good read if you like military history. Forgotten soldier by Guy Sayer is an amazing book.
