Slow down, look around and enjoy each new day. Love each other and don't take anything or anyone for granted. Make time for your friends and family, don't wait until you are older to wish you spent more time with them, do it now as tomorrow may be too late. Money and nice things can make you happy, but friendship and love will provide real happiness.

Many philosophers were trying to establish relationship between material standing and happiness. Some say : if you're poor, you cannot be happy and add: when you have certain amount of money that's enough to satisfy your material needs, the rest of happiness depends on what your values are like and how close you succeed to approach to certain goals of your life. In real life, one can not force things to come his way, like happy marriage or a bunch of kids, little cottage in the country and so on...these things sometimes happen, but most probably not. If you're alone and unhappy, that is indeed very sad, so you should try for some friends and soon enough you'll find out, they're much the same as you...No one is really happy until he ( she ) finds peace within him ( her )self...

Happiness is a state of mind. Learning to be happy is a process. Part of that process is having appropriate expectations. Happiness is not dictated by outward circumstances -- really. Learning to see a situation as it is, not as you hoped or feared it would be, is one of the keys to being content.
You have true love with family members and friends even if you do not find romantic love that lasts "forever after". Studies have shown that these relationships have prolonged the lives of many. So, having loving relationships in your life are a necessity of life and of happiness.
As for work, studies have also shown that doing what you love and not just going to work because you must, is much less stressful and prolongs your life. Therefore, this in turn makes you happier.
Under these assumptions, if you are without work you love, and don't have loving relationships in your life, you should be unhappy.
There are those who choose to be jobless, homeless and alone, who say that they are very content, however...so who can say if any of these studies are even relevant?

True Happiness cannot be found. You cannot search outside yourself to find it. True Happiness lies within you. You must search your very soul and be True to yourself. Be honest with yourself and look for the negative things about yourself. Start eliminating those negative things one by one until you realize one day, you are not so negative of a person anymore. This may sound simple, or not. Start by asking the question "How can I do this?" instead of saying "I can't do this!" Once you begin your journey, the journey itself will become clear and you will awaken happier each day. If you search for something, you will not find it, when you give up on the search, Your Truth will come. Hope this helps!

You can be happy if you choose to. During my life, I've been without love and without work many times, but I managed to be happy. Take contentment in small things--you're alive, you're healthy, you have blue skies and sunny days, fresh air, a few good TV shows, etc. You don't even have to have friends. Just be happy with who you are. That's the real key.

Haven't you noticed how everyone is looking for happiness and nobody seems to have found it?
Well, this is because happiness is not something you find, it is not something you can get for yourself.
Happiness can only be given. So, if you want to be happy, make others happy!
You know, there's the bliss for ignorants; which is fine.
There's happity(a word I invented...my contribution to the English Lang.) for those who are trying to find happiness.
And there's happiness for those who make others happy.
End of the story!0!

True happiness is carrying love with you. You cannot be happy without love for long. You can be happy for long without being successful at work. However you can be unhappy for short periods of time without being successful at work or if you dont have work at all.

you'd be surprised what makes happiness.
my ultimate goal has become peace of mind. when i was younger i dreamed of owning so many material things that other people strive for.
eventually, i saw that no matter how much a person accumulates, it is never enough. i also realized that all of these trappings were made necessary through the guile of sales pitches. then they became status symbols that made slaves out of the masses.
today my priorities are simple and so is my life. but because it is necessary to interact with other human beings, my peace of mind comes in small doses or windows in time. but if i can learn to expand those little windows that's the next step.

I believe that happiness comes only from determination and self-satisfaction, i mean u don't have to own the perfect car or have the greatest job, search within urself and think about the good things u have that others don't and real happiness will soon penetrate your soul.

True happiness comes when you truly love yourself and are willing to accept your physical advantages & disadvantages. Then you must also respect and care for everyone even if you don't like them that much. Hence whether you have a lover or not it does not matter cause you already love life!
