Most parents I come across show an immense interest in the lives of their kids, from what they're studying in school, to where they're working, who they're dating, etc.
My parents seem to show absolutely no interest in our lives. It was as though they were completely oblivious to the fact that, surprise surprise, kids grow up, and we won't always just want to play catch in the backyard.
It goes further than that though. They're downright dead-weights. My brother is marrying into an Italian family next year, and the first thing out of my mother's mouth was a complaint about the location -- barely any congratulations!
Anyone else struggle with parents who seem inconvenienced to have children? Both of them make great money. Additionally, they haven't put any money aside for our weddings, educations, etc.
I'm independent and can manage on my own two feet, but it's simply about the fact that they don't seem to really care. It's a HASSLE for them.

My wife and I have been together for about a year now, the relationship started off on the wrong foot. A month into the relationship, she tells me that my boss (who is married) was her ex, who is also her boss... This made my work environment very uncomfortable but it also opened up my eyes about his behaviour towards her. I always thought he was very affectionate towards her, yet knowing what I now know. My perception became clearer, he acted that way because he was still interested in her. I mean, if he was married and they had a relationship, why would he respect ours. He has constantly been flirting with her, tapping her nose with paper, pushing her, always staring at her, and he even walks behind her computer to see who she's emailing.

Also, it isn't just him, she told me 4 to 5 months into the relationship that she still had feelings for him. She answered a Yahoo! question stating that she didn't know what love meant up until a couple of years ago, which was the time that she

This is a long story. I have two daughters. The youngest was playing in a soccer game. The oldest was asked by an officer of the league to ref the game. When we got to the game, I sat down and heard other parents from the opposing team complain because my two girls. Saying things like, "Isnt that so and so's sister refing??? Well I guess that's how they win their games." Incinuating that my oldest would be biased in the game. I walked away at the time . I have come to find out that parents went to the other coach and compained after the game. I am really upset, my daughter is 10 years old. She just wants to ref soccer, not cheat for her sister. (If anything she may be harder on her sister!!!) The same parents went to the president of the league as well. What shoud I do now??? Do I address the situation, just let it blow over? Or should I take it up with an officer of the league.

When Sidney Crosby was a tricycle motor, he was a stick boy for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL (his cousin was captain of the team). Ray Whitney was one of the Oilers' stick boys during Wayne Gretzky's late career in Edmonton, the other was Ryan Smyth. During the 1984 Canada Cup, when Smyth was a child, he and Whitney were the stick boys as well. Thus, the famous story of how while Smyth was in the rink parking lot, Glenn Anderson backed up his car over him.

Any other famous stick boys?

A wiehgt lifter can lift 150kg vertically at a constant speed to a position 2m over his head.

so because he is lifting it at a constant speed, when you draw the free body diagram, you know that the normal force and the weight should be the same (due to equilibrium). So does that mean if you get the sum of the work done by the weight and the normal force, it should be ZERO?
