...in other words, my lung collapsed and I had to have surgury to reattach it the wall of my chest in order to prevent further collapse. Just curious if this something I should be keeping an eye on, even though it has been fixed? What I'm most concerned about is the build up of scare tissue.

You probably had a pneumothorax and pleurodesis surgery and the adhesions that were created to re inflate your lung are sometimes painful." Mechanical pleurodesis does not use chemicals. The surgeon "roughs" up the inside chest wall ("parietal pleura") so the lung attaches to the wall with scar tissue. " If your pain has become worse than usual seek health care.

I had the VATs surgery about 4 years ago, i still get pain occasionally, but there is nothing the Dr can do about it.

scar tissue is what the surgery produces. they scrape the outside of your lungs with an abrasive, and as it heals the scar tissue attached to the chest cavity keeping the lung inflated.

Usually pleurodesis doesn't require any checkups. Just see the doctor if you have something out of the ordinary.
