Usually when you buy a computer, you should have a recovery disk, either a factory one or one that you should have made. If you have either stick it in and see if you can find your media player and install it.
You could also try a restore point when it was active (start, accessories,system tools, system restore).
You could go to micorsoft.com and see if you can download a media player, if all else fails email them with your situation and I'm sure they'll help you out if your windows is legitimate.

go to media player on the net and press download and follow the instructions and then it will automatically send you updates as the time goes by. hurry cause there is a new player now and it is Hot Hot Hot!

what media player are you talking about? you can try 3 different players: windows media, divx, or vlc player. just google any of them and download/install the file.

Well i dont know how to get the media player back but you can try, Windows downloads or something or just download...
sharewere I.E. ( Limwire, Bear share, Mp3 rocket.)
(Just dont get caught)

two things u can do!!
1. install new windows SERVICE PACK AT LEAST
2.press right click on my computer and then (properties) and then (hardware) and click on (device manger)
and search for the unknown device....
OR TRY TO INSTALL WINAMP PLYER...
