The western, or any other, civilisation never was going to get through GW in one piece.

How does the revised ppm level effect the timescale for GW causing significant problems for western economies? or to put it another way, If someone in a western society wanted to get off the planet or tuck themselves out of the way before the western economies crumble under the weight of global warming, how long would they have?

I am about to give in notice to my employers. I don't have another job lined up or anything, I just want to leave. I want to say to them that I'll work out the month but I'm only required to give a weeks notice. Can they demand I leave after the week? Please let me know what you think.

This is for the database for a movie theatre's website. The company has multiple theatres.


Problem: handling dates/show times for multiple prints of the same movie.

Current set up:
-One table for movies includes all movie specific information like rating, cast, web sites, etc. One record per movie.

-One table for dates includes the start & end date for each theatre as well as the no pass period. One record per theatre per movie.

-One table for times. Includes the auditorium number, sound format, and time. One record for each time/date set since the theatres do not run the same schedule all week. For example Fri-Sun 1:00 is one record, Fri-Sun 3:00 is a second record, Mon-Tue 3:00 is a third record.

I need to do a project for English, which is writing a book (decent length). I was wondering if anyone had any tips like:
1. How to make it flow smoothly. I always feel like I am jumping around, how can I get it to flow?
2. Make the pages fly. WHen you are reading a book and look down and say, "WHoa! I'm already on page 70!" I wanna acheive that effect.
3. Keep people reading. We need to keep people reading, such as they dont read a page and drop it.
4. ANy other tips would be appreciated too!

Please just tell me some nice ways to make my writing better. (If I get the book published and used ur advice, I'll put you in my acknowledgements)

My husband was with a co-worker when the topic of religion came up. She, being Mormon spoke of her beliefs and my husband, being more spiritually open-minded spoke of his beliefs. Somehow she became offended because he did not agree with what she was saying. He simply wanted to inform her that he believes all paths lead to God, not just the Mormon path. She took great offense at this, just because he said what he believes. Now she has gotten him in trouble with their boss for harrassment. His job is on the line and I know in my heart that he did nothing wrong. Can someone please tell me if this is right for a company to reprimand someone for simply stating their beliefs. Also, we live in a country where the constitution protects our right to chose our own religion. Does this not apply in the state of Utah?

Granted labels are what they are, woefully incomplete words that can't really convey ideas adequatly. Given that, we still have to label groups something to talk about them. Language is just a b-tch that way. LDS people just sounds silly, it makes you sould like you have a disease that we have to abreviate. So what's a one word (Protestant, Muslim, Buddhist etc.) thing we can call you (them)?

Quick survey- anyone here who is not from Utah and has never been to Utah ever heard of funeral potatoes? They're a kind of statewide dish, basically a potato casserole. I know it's more of a local thing (like fry sauce or lime jello with carrots), but I'm wondering if it's spread. For that matter, how far has fry sauce spread? I was in a McDonald's in Paris and they had packets of fry sauce, but it turned out to be mayo. Thoughts?
