Because you can grow pot in your house or yard. Giant multibillionare companies have exclusive rights to produce individual pharmaceuticals.

Doctors are given incentives to prescribe certain drugs, and drug companies have incredible political lobbying power.

In other words, the system is F-ed up. We should all grow some pot, how would they crack down on that? Throw us all in prison for growing a plant that doesn't kill anyone, but in fact has medicinal properties?

Here's how my doctor puts it about prescribing medicine. He prescribes it based on its benefit and risk.

Each medicine has varying degree of benefit and risk. For disease like cancer, doctors prescribe chemo all knowing the very medicine will make one weak and can even damage organs. But, the alternative is death. Here, clearly the benefit out weights risk.

Sometimes, risk comparison is surgery and medicine. He says, in some cases, he prefers surgery as it can fix the problem permanently while medicine for the issue may lead to long term use, and the possible side effects are far greater than the risk for making a small incision.

I won't comment on Marijuana, as for everything I say, you have your reasons to say otherwise.
