My computer, running Windows XP Pro, froze, and it will not reboot. The screen comes up, there is some activity, then screen goes black and says Reboot failed, press F1 to try again, press F2 to go to setup. Pressing F1 just brings up the error message over and over again, and pressing F2 does nothing useful.

I tried to restart the computer with a cd in the drive, and got a different error message - PREVIOUS REBOOT WAS DUE TO VOLTAGE REGULATOR FAILURE. Press F1 etc....

Okay - so what is really wrong with my computer?

I will bring it to pc repair place if I have to, but I want to know if this is something I could try to tackle on my own, if it is as simple as replacing the battery or checking cable connections, or do I really need to call in the big guns?

thanks in advance!

I need to understand why you get the answer y = +/- root(x^3 + 2x^2 + 2x + 4) My differential textbook does not explain this and I have forgotten my first year calculus, thanks.

In Pinyin theory, the consanont "J" should represent the "dy" sound, but when I listen to CDs it sound so me like they are just pronouncing the consanant "J" as "J" as in English ("Just", "Jump" for example).

I know Mandarin speakers use Hanzi instead of characters, so I use Zhongwen Zi below as examples:

When you pronounce (就 = Jiu4) do you say the "dy" sound or the English "J" used in "Jump", "Just"

How does the pronounciation of (Ji1 = 乩) compare to (汁 = Zhi1)....Do you say the "乩" with a "dy" sound or an English "J" sound.

I think the best thing for me to do is to make a Mandarin friend, and hear him/her speak, but I have no Mandarin people in my surroundings or in my neighberhood ect. thus I ask this question on Y/A

Thank you for sharing your culture and your knowlege with me.
I appreciate your kindness.

If I am laid off in October but obtain temp jobs for 3 months or so, if there are no longer assignments available, can I then apply for unemployment, or will it be too late?

I want to make sure that if I do take on temp work, I won’t lose my chance of getting unemployment in case I do not find a full time permanent position.

Does anyone know about this?

Thanks

I've heard, recently, that a judge was considering sentencing Vick,to one year in jail, for every dog that was killed, for lack of performance,or poor performance in those dog fights.Apparently, there were at least 40 dog deaths, admitted to ,by Vick.
So,...
Shouldn't those years of incarceration be equated as dog years?...Or,...in other words,240 years?

I am so depressed. Let me tell you just how pathetic my life has been since I was about 16yrs old. I had very negative thoughts of myself since I was that age. Looking back, I was ashamed of who I was, how I looked, extremely self concious, and had just an extremely distorted view of myself and reality. My sophmore year of high school is when I gave up on life, school, and friends. I started to wear very baggy clothes to school, to cover my body, and wanted to hide from everything and everyone. I became an introvert and isolated myself. I was extremely tired all the time and never wanted to do anything but sleep. Life was a drag, my job was a drag, school was a drag, I was a zombie through life! Anyway, now I'm 22 and have grown up a lot and have come out of my shell and have grown into myself so much more! However, I still have occasional bouts with depression still. College is so difficult and relationships are even harder. I lived alone, on my own, since I was 19, and

My thesis statement:
"Crimes committed on the grounds of insanity can be justified due to 'state of mind'. Everyone has a breaking point, for some it is sooner than others."

The rest of the paragraph:
"Crimes committed on the grounds of insanity can be justified due to 'state of mind'. Everyone has a breaking point, for some it is sooner than others. All our actions can be justified somehow, whether due to mental state, physical state, or another reason we create. No matter what, we always find some reason why our actions may be right in our eyes. In The Black Cat and The Tell-Tale Heart, Edgar Allan Poe attempts to prove this statement true through his gruesome narration, strong symbolism, and various literary techniques."

I want to lose weight! I know people will say eat a balnced diet and exercise but I do and obviously don't work for me. I've been at the same weight for ages now and have not really put on weight, only got heavier as i have grown. So I was wondering if there are any diets out there that have helped you to lose weight. I don't care how stupid they sound or how unhealthy people say they are, just want lots of suggestions. Say anything. I'll take a chance :) x

I know we correct our children's behaviour because we want them to grow up knowing what is "right". (And also sadly, because their poor behaviour reflects badly on us.) But, is it o.k./heathly to correct a spouse's behaviour? (Stressful outrageous outbursts and honest bad behaviour.) And...if it is...or if it isn't ... Has anyone else every been very tired of doing this. I have so much responsiblity in my life, I don't want to "police" him as well. I said as much to him and asked him if he thought I was out of line and he said that sometimes it's good that I call him on his behaviour. ???????
