My fiance and I recently adopted a pup from a kill shelter in Alabama. They told us he's a boxer/lab mix, but I wanted to know if any one else had any ideas.

Thank you all so much for the compliments! He is a very beautiful dog, but I have to say that...he's my baby! Opie would be so happy!

Thank you for saving the life of this beautiful dog! Do you mind if I use his picture in a spay/neuter campaign?

BYB's think that all animals this pretty would NEVER end up in a kill shelter- may I use Opie to help save lives and prove them wrong?

I see lab/Dalmatian in him.

Edit: The Pit people could be right- a Black Lab x a White Pit might look very much like this!

According to ALL/ANY Shelters, 99% of their dogs are Lab Mix

I do not see any Boxer in that dog, although very cute

There is a DNA test available for under $100 to find out what breed your dog is. It can give you up to four different breed mixes and there is currently 39 breeds tested. Ask your vet for more info.

Aww, what a cutie! You did the right thing by saving this little guy.
I don't see the Boxer..Although, there could possible be some Pitbull in there.
Definitely can see the Lab.
For all of these people saying Dalmation..just because he is black and white doesn't necessarily mean he is a Dal. haha

Good luck with him!

I would say they are right....It looks like both! And might I add what a gorgeous dog! You did a great thing by getting this dog from the shelter! Go to this link and look at the pics of the markings, boxers have flatter faces, but with the lab mixed in, it would give it the longer face.

He's a beaut- love the face. Got a lab type head, doesn't look much like a boxer to me even if you imagine him with cropped ears. I would lean more towards pit/staff or maybe even dalmation. Who cares though, he's a gem!

Looks like a lab mix, but don't really see any boxer traits.

From the muzzle it looks like a pitbull/lab mix. I definitely don't see any boxer in it.

I would have to say he may be part lab and maybe some dalmation or pitt bull, he has no boxer traits that I see, but he is beautiful!

I can't see the boxer in him but you could probaly tell from his body because boxers have quite a distictive shape, maybe part staffie - hie eyes and colouring look like a staffie. He's cute whatever he is!
