He wants to go with a couple of buddies and one of there mothers, I do not know the mother that is going, therefore I said he could not go. Now he is upset and said I am mean!. Am I really being mean or is it just him?

I live in Texas and it's reeally hot, I've been feeling like we shouldn't buy a car if it's black due to the idea that they absorb the heat more. Is this really true? If the AC works well is it really an issue? I just found a great deal on a black Nissan, it's like new, should I consider it even in spite of the black, Or, should I stick with the lighter colored car? What's your experience?

im 23 hes 44. he is seperated for 8 years has 3 kids under 20yrs. weve lived together for 2 years and i have often brought up the subject of marriage but he quickly shrugs it off and then says 'when the time is right' but when is the 'right' time? i adore him but sometimes i think i love him more than he loves me

I've heard 2 versions my whole life. One is Hailey with a short 'a' sound. The other is Halley with a long 'a' sound. I've pronounced it Hailey my whole life, so it's the version I prefer to stick with, but I'd still like to know which pronounciation is correct. Thanks!

A Trojan Horse is a nasty little virus that waits for a remote command to begin destroying your computer's defenses against attack and is usually as innocent looking as the toolbar you have in your browser. However since most Trojan Horses are well documented your anti virus program stopped it before any damage could be done.
That screen you saw was actually your anti virus program reacting to the threat and dealing with it. But since you turned off the computer so quickly out of panic the program didn't get a chance to finish its job and is now waiting to seek out the remains of the attacking software and destroy it.
Your system is safe but let the anti virus program run a scan to be sure. So just turn your computer back on and let whatever anti-virus program finish what it was programed to do

My friend died young, and at his wake, the funeral home played a mix cd of songs that were evocative of my friend. Many were sentimental and soulful. But someone snuck Biz Markie's "Just a Friend (Baby You Got What I Need)"

Everytime that damn song came on we all fell out laughing. It was a sweet moment of joy in a time of agony. It ws a brilliant move by his sister to include that song.

One day , the father of a very wealthy family took his son to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people lived . They spent 3 days on the farm of some poor people . On their way home , dad asked his son " How was the trip" ? "It was great" said his son . 'Did you see how poor people live" ? " Yes" said the boy . So the father asked what his son had learned and the boy replied " I saw that we have 1 dog and they had 4 . We have a pool that reaches to the end of our garden , and they have a creek that goes on forever . We have imported lanterns and they have the stars . We have a small plot to live on and they have fields that go beyond sight . We buy our food but they grow theirs . We have fences to protect us and they have friends and neighbors .
The father was speechless !!
Then his son added " Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are " !

Yes , urban life is different , but that doesn't mean there aren't any opportunities .

Purpose is a construct of intelligent agents. It means the role a component has apart of a system (of what ever size) to help achieve the goals within the system. The ultimate goal of life is to survive without any possiblity of death. Thus the purpose of life is to exist and so it serves itself. Why do people assume that the universe has a purpose, why can people not get there head around the idea of something simply existing as a product of purposeless mathematically based physical laws?
