I am also 5 foot 9, and female.
The upper limit of "ideal body weight" for us is 165. So at a minimum, lose 5 lbs to avoid an "overweight" BMI. If you are smaller boned, try to get to around 155. That is "middle range" of ideal weight. My absolute lowest weight ever was 140, at which point people thought I looked "bony." I know, 140 seems heavy, but when you are tall and large framed like I am, 140 is actually skinny.

dont look at the scale - it doesnt tell you how much muscle you have or whats your body fat percentage. look at how your clothes fit
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

first of all ur tall so dont worry about it... second of all BMI just calculates ur weight and height... it's most probably not accurate... and finally i duno if u remeber this but Tyra Banks is around ur height and a few months ago she admitted to weighing i believe 170 lbs!! I'm sure taht if she were there with u right now she would tell u to say this "I'm 5'9 and 170 lbs SO WHAT!!" hun stop worrying 170 lbs does not show on u because u are so tall.... just eat gealthy and exercise regularly!!

None. But if you are that concerned go to http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

Still you are growing. But don't worry I am 150 lbs. 5'7" and I don't look bad at all. in fact I'm pretty skinny. Most of it is muscle because I work out a lot. It could be the sma with you :)

Your BMI (Body Mass Index) is a good guide to how you are doing. A BMI ranging between 18.5 & 24.9 is classed as 'healthy'.
Your current height & weight give you a BMI of 25.29, so you are slightly overweight. Losing 3lbs would just put you into the 'healthy' range, so maybe aim to lose 7 - 14 lbs over a sensible period of time.

end irritating approximately YOUR WEIGHT! i'm the comparable age (14 in 2 months) and that i'm some stone lighter. that doesn't mean YOUR fat! You sound in stable shape and such as you're healty i think of you be attentive to in the journey that your fat or not so do not hassle approximately it. your BMI is about 25.1the BMI(body mass index) is 15.8 to 23.3 you would need to loose about 15 pounds to be in the normal BMI range. you can easily do this over the summer.. swimming eating more fruits and veggies and excersizing more.
