Aries is ruled by Mars and is the element of fire. Normally the same elements are compatible such as air & air, water & water, etc. However, because of the Mars influence Aries tend to have more intense personalities than the other fire signs: Leo (ruled by the Sun) and Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter). That doesn't mean that Aries would never be compatible with Leo or Sagittarius, it just means that one would have to take the lead as the more powerful one and the other would have to accept 2nd place. Usually the Aries personality commands that they should be numero uno in just about everything.

Therefore, it would be beneficial for an Aries to look toward an air sign for a more easy-going compatibility. I would suggest Gemini (ruled by Mercury) or Aquarius (ruled by Uranus). I would not suggest Libra because it is the exact opposite of Aries; which means there is a challenge there to overcome.

Usually same category signs are most compatible, like Leo and Sagittarius are fire signs so technically they are supposed to be compatible. But alot of times I find compatibility in other ways with other zodiac signs!

Pisces. I'm an Aries, and whatever you do, stay away from Taurus if possible. they do not jive. I've tried. should of known a ram and a bull would butt heads though.
